So Cal Goes Up in Flames......

Those Aren't Clouds, It's Smoke Outside Mt. Soledad Park in San Diego....
Let's pray for the wind to stop, and for rain to come and put these fires out. Sure, part of me wonders why people build houses in wildfire prone areas, but that's an argument for another day.
So far, over 1000 homes have been burned down, and 500,000 people have been evacuated. So far, nobody has complained about FEMA or any state emergency agencies. Maybe we learned soemthing from Katrina, but fires are a different animal from a flood. Anyway, here's hope for rain...

I was reading about the evacuees at the San Diego football stadium and the news were saying only one concession stand open selling doughnuts and drinks and people with annimals were not allowed in and the people inside was watching fuzzy reception on the wide screen from sitting in the stands. Here we go again.

Mike, re nobody has complained about FEMA, et al., despite some of the freaking far left things that go on out there, Cali has been a leader in Incident Management and the populace has learned to work within an understanding that an order to evacuate ain't BS. Also, unlike New Orleans doesn't play with Louisana and Lousiana doesn't work and play well with FEMA, cause the don' need no Yankees telling them how to do it; jurisdictionally, Incident Management players know that they are hosed if they don't mesh and mesh to the best of their abilities. Between the lines, even the lefties know that Blanco and Nagin screwed the pooch in a big way, even if it isn't popular to admit. Cali, even before the Governator, had the lesson down, and

Building in areas where controlled burns ought to be permitted, yet aren't thanks to the green weenies, is indeed another issue.
