Is This the Work of Al-Qaeda ??
An interesting question was brought up today on Fox News. While we are pretty sure that the wildfires in Southern California were deliberately set, there is a small bit of evidence that they may have been started by terrorists.
According to an FBI memo earlier this week, authorities were warned from the Denver office by an Al-Qaeda detainee that they may start fires in the West. Not exactly a very efficient way of terrorizing people, but it is possible. The fires are spreading so fast, that there is little doubt that they are the result of some type of accelerant.
The good news is that the winds are dying down and beginning to come from off of the ocean, rather than from the east, so the tide may be turning in the firefighters' favor. At this point, the fires still are running unabated, with 1300 homes lost, and nearly 1 million evacuees.

The fires do fit the pattern of a simplified Japanese WMD that failed during WW2. Said WMD, the bastard cousin of a weather balloon, rigged with an incendiary bomb or bombs, though over 100 made it across the Pacific, faield because the media cooperated with the Government and spiked any stories of the balloons or the cause(s) of some of the forest fires in the west.
As to an accelerant, between the Santa Ana winds, dry conditions and masses of tinder, er brush that could have been dealt with via controlled burns, I doubt that a can of gasoline or PVC cement was really needed to drive it.

Actually, I though it was a La Raza quid pro quo for Duncan Hunter's efforts to move the border fence along. That or someone asked Hilary to swear on a Bible again.

Who gives a rip what trips Ollie Stoned's trigger except Ollie? Terrorists, no; unless you chose to define a terrorist as a criminal whose actions set teh National Emergency Management System into action for a reason other than an actual natural disaster.
