Chances Are This Didn't Come From Iran or Venezuela.....
There's a nice little report on Fox News.com, and it shows an odd disparity. It seems that many of the richest oil-producing countries are stiffing humanitarian aid groups, like the UN's World Food Program. This at a time when their revenues from oil are double what they were last year....
While the US puts about $1.12 Billion into it, Canada donates $192 million, and even Italy has doubled their donation to $99 million, Iran, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela all given nothing at all. Pretty cheap, considering that all of those countries are expected to be above $100 Billion each.
Now, i'm not the biggest fan of the UN, and their Food programs have been scarred by lots of fraud. But it seems like those responsible might have been ferrited out. Saying 'it would be the Christian thing to do' to a bunch of Muslims that don't respect women and are only concerned about lining their pockets would probably be fruitless, but it's worth a try. Funnier things ahve happened....
