Looks Like the Other VP Candidates "Palin" Comparison In McCain's Mind...

Okay, Which One Is Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, and Which Is MSNBC Reporter Ashleigh Banfield ??
It took me a while to remember who she reminded me of.... John McCain has shot crap today, and thrown a real curveball at everyone. He picked Sarah palin as his Vice-Presidential candidate today - just like Ted said last week. I was wrong, but i'm glad I was....
Where Tom Ridge lacked the wow factor to really invigorate the GOP, Palin has all that kind of juice, and more..... McCain wanted a person with leadership experience, a maverick who is Pro-Life and against pork. He got that, and even found the Fountain of Youth and an attraction for all those disgruntled Hillary supporters. In a way, in one stroke, he trumped Barack Obama.
Is it a perfect pick? Of course not. Palin is only 44, and was Mayor of a small town just a few years ago. No doubt she will have a challenge debating Joe Biden on foreign policy, but her son is in the Army, and will be goin gsoon to Iraq - where she has already visited as Governor. It certainly may take some of the teeth from Biden, who would much rather gotten to attack Mitt Romney or Tim Pawlenty than Palin.
Still, the definite focus of selecting Palin will be it's effect on women's votes. Yes, she is Pro-Life, but what woman cannot empathize and respect a woman who knew she had a baby with Down's Syndrome at 4 months, and didn't abort her child. No man on Earth can truly know how she and other women feel in a situation like that. We only act like we understand......
Another part that can pull some blue-collar votes is her husband's involvement with the Steelworker's Union at the local level in Alaska. The guy is an Average Joe, and so is she. Could that put Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan into play? Maybe. Not for sure, but maybe.....
Call McCain Kenny Rogers from now on..... He's has taken a big gamble, but it may pay off in the end. It all depends on how she does on the road, and in the one debate this Fall. Where Obama played it safe, McCain is shooting for the stars. While the Democrats may attack Palin for her short resume, which one is worse - a VP with a short resume, or a President with a short resume ??

There's a lot of upside, and a thing or two for some concern, but we'll see soon.
