Boy, I remember when registering to vote was just your Civic Duty. This year, you can really clean up by just voting. T-shirts, other assorted junk..... Now comes word that singer/songwriter/hottie/liberal one sheet toilet paper user Sheryl Crow is bribing you to Get Out The Vote.....
Yep, Crow is offering 50,000 digital copies of her new album 'Detours' to anyone who can prove hey registered three people to vote this year. Guess she has a few copies left over. I haven't heard anything from the latest album, but it has a reputation of being very Anti-Bush/GOP and all the other cliches, so it's no surprise that it's not selling like her other records. One of these days, artists will learn that their job is to be heard, and not listened to - if you get what I saying.
Crow says she has been involved in Rock the Vote since it started in 1988 - I think she was stuffing envelopes back then between stints as Michael Jackson's backup singer. Betcha she's got some good stories - and she thinks Bush is bad for America !!
Still, Crow made enough F. Everybody money a long time ago, so she can do whatever social activism she feels like. Guess all that talk in the 90's about her being a brainless one hit wonder got to her... I'm all for registering everyone who is eligible, but holding the carrot on a stick - or in this case, a CD on a website - is the wrong kind of motivation.....

Let me guess, this disc also disses Walmart, so since they won't sell it, it is available in quantity.
Like I said, F. Everybody money makes you stop caring if you sell another CD ever again. i'm sure the record company that spotted her butt in the early years is none too glad to hear this.
